On The Road Again Tour (2015)
The On The Road Again Tour is One’s Direction’s fourth headlining world tour. It was kicked off in support of their fourth studio album, Four (released in 2014). The tour is set to perform 80 shows in total across 6 global regions including North America, Europe, South Africa, Australia, Asia and the Middle East. The tour continued on after March 2015 after band member Zayn Malik left the tour due to stress, and later announced that he was leaving the band several days later.
Where We Are Tour (2014)
The Where We Are Tour which ran over 2014 was One Direction’s third headlining world tour. It was kicked off in support of their third studio album, Midnight Memories (released in 2013). The tour was initially announced in May 2013 during a press conference, and was set to perform 71 shows across 3 continents including Europe, North America and South America. The Where We Are Tour earned staggering $290 million in sales with over 3.4 million fans in attendance.
Take Me Home Tour (2013)
The Take Me Home Tour which ran during 2013 was One Direction’s second headlining world tour. The tour was initially announce in February 2012 during the 2012 BRIT Awards. One Direction were set to perform staggering 123 shows across 4 continents including North America, Europe, Oceania and Asia. The Take Me Home Tour earned $114 million in sales with over 820,000 fans in attendance.
Up All Night Tour (2011)
The Up All Night Tour which ran during 2011 was One Direction’s debut world tour. It was kicked off in support of their first album, Up All Night (released in 2011). The tour was initially announced on September 2011 and was set to perform 53 shows across 3 continents including Europe, North America and Oceania. The Up All Night Tour was supported by various musical guests including Boyce Avenue, Camryn, Justice Crew, Matt Lonsdale, Annah Mac, Manika, Olly Murs and Johnny Ruffo.
About One Direction
One Direction is a pop boyband from London consisting of members Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson. Zayn Malik however announced his departure from One Direction on 25 March 2015 midway through the band's One The Road Again world tour after taking leave for stress. One Direction formed as a band during the seventh series of The (British) X Factor where they finished third in the competition. Shortly after they were signed to Simon Cowell’s record label, Syco Records and immediately began recording their first album. They have released a number of successful albums including Up All Night (released in 2011), Take Me Home (released in 2012), Midnight Memories (released in 2013), and Four (2014). One Direction has had huge success and their achievements also include winning the Brit Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards and the Teen Choice Awards.
